On February 18, 2017, the MSRA will be hosting the Stream Restoration Seminar and Job Fair at the University of Maryland – Department of Environmental Science and Technology.  With the implementation of the Chesapeake Bay TMDL, the stream and ecological restoration industry is hard at work planning, assessing, designing, constructing and monitoring projects to restore our streams and watersheds. With this increase in work, the need for smart, trained and technically-able college graduates has never been higher across the industry.  The event will consist of presentations from a diverse group of speakers from the Stream Restoration industry within the state of Maryland, and a Job Fair focused on Stream Restoration internships and entry-level positions.

The purpose of the event is to:

  • Introduce undergraduate and graduate students to the Stream Restoration industry.
  • Make students aware of some of the Career Pathways that are available in the Stream Restoration industry.
  • Discuss the skill set and knowledge base that hiring managers are looking for in prospective employees, and follow up with the opportunities that are available for students looking to develop their skills and knowledge base.
  • Provide an opportunity for students to meet and interact with potential employers within the Maryland Stream Restoration Industry that may have internship and entry-level positions available.

If you are a student interested in attending the event, you can register and find more information here 2017-flyer-msra-students  and at the following website:  https://MSRAJobFair.eventbrite.com  Registration is free, but space is limited so make sure to sign up.
